AUTHOR: Marty, a.k.a. canape TITLE: Little Bird is kicking and I'm counting DATE: 11/24/2007 12:31:00 PM ----- BODY:
I seriously think that bruises are going to appear around my ribs soon. Little Bird has decided that it is way fun to kick his momma as hard as he can right up under her ribs. It's beginning to smart.

Deep down, I like the kicking though. I like knowing that he is still comfortably nestled in my growing womb. I like having his movements remind me that he is doing alright.

I've been doing my kick counts. Thanks to Props and Pans and a little technology, I've been doing them with a kickTrak. It's a really cool little device that times how long it takes to reach 10 fetal movements and then stores up to 10 sessions so that you can look back and compare. It's nifty.

You can win one for yourself if you like. You have to pop on over to Props and Pans and leave a comment after the kickTrak post.

Meanwhile, I'm going to try some cats and cows to see if I can get this kid to reposition to the left ribs for awhile. Ow.

I hope Bird moves for you. ----- COMMENT: AUTHOR:Anonymous FENICLE DATE:Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 2:15:00 PM EST I think this is such a cool product! I wish I had one when I was pregnant (like 6 years ago - my how things change!!).

Thanks for linking to it on PnP. ----- COMMENT: AUTHOR:Anonymous slouchy DATE:Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 3:43:00 PM EST Augh. I remember those swift kicks towards the end of pregnancy!

Oof!

But you're right, it's a nice, healthy sign. ----- COMMENT: AUTHOR:Anonymous Candygirlflies DATE:Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 8:18:00 PM EST No matter how much it smarted... I always loved the feeling of my babies kicking. Sometimes I would (very gently) pat them back, usually in time to whatever music I was listening to at the time.

I remember just after Child Number Three was born, and I was out for the first time on my own, zipping quickly to the grocery store. I was sitting in the car at a stop light, and went to pat my tummy in time to the music playing on the radio... and I suddenly realized that she was no longer in there. For the first time in a LOOONG time, I was really, truly, all alone.

Enjoy every single movement, every single kick. It is such a precious time.

Hope you're well! Lots of love--

Sometimes I would just do the poses while I watching television--or even just in the shower. It was just so...so COMFORTABLE. ----- COMMENT: AUTHOR:Anonymous WhyMommy DATE:Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 10:29:00 PM EST I did my cats and cows today too! Wish I had known about them when I was pregnant. Ah well.

Aren't the kicks lovely? My "favorite" was when Little Bear would anchor his little foot right under my ribs and stick there. Ouch!

But I always found them wonderfully reassuring, and reveled in their presence much as you. I'm so happy that you're feeling the kicks and enjoying the moment.

Hope your Thanksgiving was lovely. ----- COMMENT: AUTHOR:Anonymous Ally DATE:Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 11:11:00 PM EST I loved the kicking too. Until Eli broke my rib, that is. Seriously. That was not cool.

I'm getting excited for you! Not much longer to go. ----- COMMENT: AUTHOR:Anonymous Heather L. DATE:Sunday, November 25, 2007 at 3:38:00 PM EST Congrats!!!
